Bat walks - Wentworth Castle Gardens

Join our team to learn about the different species of bats that call Wentworth Castle Gardens home. There will be an opportunity to have a go with a bat detector and discover more about these fascinating creatures.

There will be a 30-40 minute talk before heading off on the walk at sunset so this event is best suited to older children and adults.

Please note:

  • For this evening event you will use the Northern College visitor carpark, postcode S75 3ES, where we will meet you and guide you to the conservatory. Our main National Trust visitor carpark will be locked at 5pm.
  • You will be met as a group at the car park at 18:30 and walked to the location of the talk in the conservatory. There is a barrier on this carpark which will be manned from 18:00.
  • The talk will be indoors and walk will commence at sunset so dress according to the evening weather. Wear suitable footwear for walking in the gardens.
  • The route will be within the gardens from the Conservatory up towards Stainborough castle. Please visit our Accessibility web page for more information.
  • This event is not suitable for dogs.
