Behind the scenes tour at Dyffryn Gardens
Gain access to parts of Dyffryn you'd never normally have access to on this behind the scenes tour of the Gardeners Yard which includes the large plant nursery and potting sheds.
On Tuesday 19th November join senior Dyffryn gardeners on a tour of the Gardeners Yard. This is an exclusive opportunity to see an area of Dyffryn never before open to visitors. It's where gardeners nurture an extensive nursery and undertake a large amount of plant cultivation.
It's also a great opportunity to find out what it takes to look after a garden like Dyffryn, what jobs the team have to undertake to keep it healthy and thriving and what planting challenges they face, especially in the rapidly changing environment that climate change has caused. Your tour leader will also be able to answer any gardening questions you have which may help you in cultivating your own green spaces.
Tickets cost £5 per person (admission also applies) and numbers are limited at 15 participants. The tour starts at 11am and lasts for one hour.
Please note:
- Normal Admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at the Welcome Centre, let the Welcome Team know you're booked on the behind the scenes tour and they'll check you in and tell you next steps.
- Please arrive with at least five minutes to spare so the tour can definitely start on time.
- Please dress for the weather and wear comfy shoes for standing and walking.
- The paths to and inside the Gardeners Yard are paved and accessible for mobility aids, some of the yard buildings may be more difficult for those with mobility aids, please let us know when you book your tickets if you have any accessibility needs and we'll try our best to make the adjustments you need.
- The tour is designed for adults or older children/teenagers to enjoy.
