NNR week: Guided Bird Walk - Hatfield Forest
Hatfield Forest is a National Nature Reserve and SSSI. This rich mosaic of habitats support a range of native and migratory bird species. Join the Hatfield team to discover the birds, explore their habitats and how they are conserved.
Start the morning at our lakeside Shell House for a chat with our Ecological Monitoring team. The team will talk about the different bird species we have at the Forest, their different habitats and the methods we use to survey them.
You'll head out on a walk for approximately one hour exploring the habitats and identifying different species along the way.
Please note:
- Meet outside the Shell House fifteen minutes before the walk.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather as we will walk in the rain or shine. We suggest bringing layers and water.
- This walk will take place over uneven terrain. If you have any access considerations, please get in touch with us to discuss them.
- This walk is aimed at an adult and family audience.
- This event is free, but booking is essential to secure your space. Please provide your name at the gate to gain entry to the Forest.
- It is a 10 minute drive from the main gate to the Lake area, so please allow time for this journey in your travel time.
