The King’s Tale: Hear Edward III recount his remarkable life — from a young king held hostage by his mother’s lover to a ruler hailed as England’s greatest monarch since King Arthur.

Knightly Trials: Test your courage and skill with crossbow and sword practice.
Royal Dress-Up: Try on knight’s armour and princess crowns and capture the moment in regal style.
Crafts & Keepsakes: Create medieval crafts to take home as your own royal treasure.
Festival Feast: Indulge in a banquet fit for kings and queens.
Sing-Along & Revelry: Join in a rip-roaring medieval sing-along.

Festive 2 course menu
Adults:
Mooless pie (vg), Roast Turkey or Roast Venison with trimmings
*
Chocolate orange tart (NGCI), Treacle tart with pouring cream (v) or Christmas pudding with brandy cream (vg)

Kids:
Roast turkey with trimmings or Penne pasta with garlic bread (vg) 
*
Chocolate brownie sundae or Yule log with pouring cream (NGCI)

Trimmings - Roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, roast parsnips, carrots, sprouts, braised red cabbage, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce.

  • Meet at the visitor centre courtyard.
  • King Edward invites you not as subjects, but as equals in his Order of Chivalry.
    Come dressed as a Princess, Knight, or simply in your favourite party attire — all are welcome.
  • This event is accessible for all, with accessible toilets, blue badge parking, induction loops, sensory bags, accessible seating and crockery. The car park will be very dark on arrival and exit.
  • The whole family is invited.
