Please book your guided tour of East Pool Mine here. Access to East Pool Mine is via tour only, so booking is recommended.
This one-hour tour marks the 80th anniversary of the closure of East Pool Mine in 1945 and delves into the resuscitation of East Pool Mine in the tin effort of the Second World War and the problems it faced. We invite you to hear stories and experiences of miners stationed here during that time and explore the buildings that have been maintained since then, including the on-site air raid shelter.
If you would prefer to book over the phone, please call 0344 249 1895.

Please note:
Michell’s is located a short distance from East Pool Mine, not as part of the same property.
It is situated on Agar Road, 0.3 miles from the main East Pool Mine site and is open for self-led, pre-booked visits.
Please arrive at Michell's at any point within your 1 hour timeslot but do note, it takes at least 20 minutes to see the whole Engine House and the art being exhibited.
If you are visiting both Michell's Engine House and East Pool Mine, please be sure not to book both locations for the same timeslot.
Parking for Michell’s Engine House is in Morrison's carpark on Agar Road. This is the same parking location for East Pool Mine. Please walk past Morrisons to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing on Agar Road. Michell's Engine House is approximately 0.3 miles or six minute walk from the carpark, away from the main East Pool Mine site. Look for the engine house on the left hand side of Agar Road.
