We have a ‘No cancellations/refunds’ policy, unless the property has to close, in which case all bookings will be refunded for the relevant time/date at the associated location.
Tickets are for your use and cannot be resold.
Bookings for affiliate organisation members or passholders
Please book an affiliate organisation member or passholder ticket if you are a member of an affiliated organisation with an admission agreement, if you are a staff member or volunteer, a National Trust holiday or campsite guest or if you are a passholder. It is essential to bring evidence of your admission eligibility - otherwise full admission will be charged. Please check this webpage to check if the place you wish to visit accepts promotional access passes. Note - only certain passes enable free car parking (where charges apply).
Events - Terms & Conditions
We have a 'No cancellations/refunds' policy, unless the event has to be cancelled, in which case all bookings will be refunded for the relevant time/date at the associated location.
Tickets cannot be transferred to another event, date or time.
Tickets are for your use and cannot be resold.
Events that include food and/or drinks:
- Please note, food and drinks prepared in our kitchens are made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our very best, we can’t guarantee that any of our products are totally allergen free.
- If you require more information about ingredients or allergens for an event, please contact the property directly.
Explorer Pass - Terms & Conditions
1. About these Terms
1.1 These Terms and Conditions explain how the National Trust Explorer Pass (“the Pass”) works.
1.2 The Pass gives you standard admission and parking at participating National Trust places during the dates shown on your confirmation email.
1.3 By buying or using a Pass, you agree to these Terms.
2. Your Pass
2.1 Your purchase confirmation email is your Pass.
2.2 Please show a digital or printed copy of your confirmation email when you arrive.
2.3 Mobile signal may be limited at some places, so we recommend downloading or screenshotting your confirmation before you travel.
3. Buying a Pass for Someone Else
3.1 You can buy a Pass for another person, including as a gift or on behalf of FIT (Fully Independent Traveller) customers.
3.2 The Pass cannot be resold for more than its standard price.
3.3 Tour Operators may include the Pass within wider travel packages at normal value.
4. When the Pass Is Valid
4.1 Your Pass is only valid for the dates shown in your order confirmation.
4.2 Your Pass is valid for admission and vehicle parking at National Trust properties during the published opening times only. Opening hours may be subject to change at any time and should be checked when planning a visit. Please see nationaltrust.org.uk.
4.3 The Pass includes:
- standard entry
- standard parking
It does not include:
- group entry
- premium or special admission
- ticketed or paid events
- paid transport
4.4 The Pass is not National Trust membership and cannot be used toward buying membership.
4.5 The pass cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
5. Types of Pass
5.1 You can choose from the following types:
- Individual Pass – for 1 adult (18+)
- Joint Pass – for 2 adults (18+)
- Family Pass (1 adult) – for 1 adult plus their children/grandchildren under 18
- Family Pass (2 adults) – for 2 adults plus their children/grandchildren under 18
5.2 The Pass can only be used for the number of people included in the Pass type.
6. Places Not Included
6.1 The Pass does not provide access to the following places:
Aberdeunant, Ascott, Ashdown House, The Beatles’ Childhood Homes (20 Forthlin Rd & Mendips), Boarstall Duck Decoy, Boarstall Tower, Braithwaite Hall, Buscot Park, Cilgerran Castle, Cobham Wood & Mausoleum, Dorneywood Garden, Eastbury Manor House, Force Crag Mine, Grantham House, Gray’s Printing Press, The Homewood, Housesteads Fort, Long Crendon Courthouse, Lundy, Martock, Moulton Hall, Nether Alderley Mill, Oakhurst Cottage, Orford Ness, Owletts, Pitstone Windmill, Priest’s House, Princes Risborough Manor House, Priory Cottage, St John’s Jerusalem, St. Michael’s Mount, Shute Barton, Steam Yacht Gondola, Stembridge Tower, Stoke-sub-Hamdon Priory, Treasurer’s House
6.2 The Pass also does not include entry to places run by:
English Heritage (including Stonehenge and Housesteads Fort), National Trust for Scotland, Historic House Hotels Ltd, CADW, Local authorities.
7. Booking Before You Visit
7.1 Some National Trust places require booking in advance of the visit date. At these places, without a booking we cannot guarantee entry. It is important to check the property’s web page at nationaltrust.org.uk when planning a visit to check whether this is the case and to book tickets.
7.2 To book with your Pass:
- choose a free Member ticket on the property’s booking page.
- enter your Order Reference Number where it asks for a membership number. Complete the transaction and you will receive a confirmation email. If you only select the free members tickets, you will not need to enter your debit/credit card details and you will not be charged.
- bring both your booking confirmation and your Pass confirmation email with you
8. Parking
8.1 To use your Pass for parking, please either:
- display a printed copy of your confirmation email and visibly display the information shown under the dotted line in the dash of your vehicle, or
- write your Order Reference Number on a piece of paper (please do not include your name or address)
8.2 Do not leave personal information visible in your vehicle.
9. Vehicles and Restrictions
9.1 Coaches are not included in the Pass.
9.2 Some places have restrictions for vans, motorhomes and caravans. Please check the property webpage before visiting.
10. Refunds, Changes and Closures
10.1 Passes are non‑refundable.
10.2 We cannot refund unused days or days affected by weather, safety issues or operational closures.
10.3 You can change your Pass start date by contacting our Bookings Team on +44 (0)344 249 1895 (local call rates apply).
11. Misuse of the Pass
11.1 We may refuse entry or cancel a Pass without refund if it is used improperly, including if it is resold above its standard price.
12. Personal Data
12.1 We handle your personal data in line with the National Trust Privacy Policy.
13. About the National Trust
13.1 The National Trust (Heelis, Kemble Drive, Swindon SN2 2NA) is a charity registered in England and Wales (number 205846).
National Trust £8 day pass for Octoplus members - Terms & Conditions
1. This reward is available to Octopus customers who have opted into Octoplus. Each Octoplus member has the chance to claim one National Trust Family Day Pass for £8 until Sunday 6 September 2026 or until all passes are claimed, whichever comes sooner.
2. Your £8 Family Day Pass can only be used once before the end of Thursday 10 September 2026 (excluding on any bank holidays and bank holiday weekends) and will be marked as redeemed once you have entered your chosen place.
3. Passes are subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.
4. To redeem this offer you need to claim your unique code via Octoplus and purchase your £8 Family Day Pass via the National Trust’s DigiTickets system. You are required to enter your unique code under ‘Additional information’, when you have added your pass to basket and clicked checkout and before completing your purchase. If you do not complete the transaction online with DigiTickets, you won't be able to redeem this offer. Purchases cannot be made directly with any of the National Trust places. Unique codes can’t be entered in the Discount Code box on the basket summary page.
5. Once claimed you will receive a confirmation email which acts as your Family Day Pass. You need to take this to your chosen place, along with your Octoplus Reward app. Without this, entry to your chosen place cannot be granted. If you do not receive your confirmation email, please contact the National Trust Box Office: 0344 249 1895.
6. The Family Day Pass covers entry to a participating National Trust place for up to 2 adults and up to 3 children. Adults visiting without any accompanying children are welcome to use the pass. Adults are those aged 18 or over. Children are those aged five to 17 inclusive. Under-fives visit free and can be additional to the number of visitors specified.
7. For a list of participating places where your Family Day Pass can be used, opening times and any pre-booking requirements visit nationaltrust.org.uk/using-your-pass. Places managed by English Heritage (including Stonehenge and Housesteads Fort), National Trust for Scotland and other organisations are also exempt from admission promotions.
8. Pre-booking: you need to book ahead at some National Trust places before visiting. At these places, we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to come in without booking first.
a. Please check nationaltrust.org.uk/using-your-pass then the place you wish to visit to check if booking is required.
b. If booking is required, click ‘Book a Visit’ on the place’s webpage.
c. Select ‘Affiliate organisation member or passholder’ tickets for the relevant number of visitors covered by the pass.
d. Complete the transaction and you will receive a confirmation email. If you only select the free tickets, you will not need to enter your debit/credit card details and you will not be charged.
e. Present both your booking confirmation and the pass to the National Trust team member on arrival. Where booking is required, free entry cannot be guaranteed without both a booking confirmation and the pass.
9. Your pass covers standard admission, but doesn’t include parking, non-standard admission, paid transport and paid events, unless these are free within standard admission. Passes cannot be used for group admission.
10. To use your pass, simply present it to a team member at your chosen National Trust place. Mobile coverage may be limited at the National Trust place you choose to visit, so please download the pass to your device, or print the pass. Your pass will be marked as redeemed and will not be able to be used again.
11. Your pass is valid at participating National Trust places within advertised opening hours. Opening hours may be subject to change at any time.
12. Your pass is non-refundable, not for resale, is non-transferable, cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or against National Trust membership, and has no alternative. ID may be requested to verify that the name of the visitor corresponds to the name featured on the Octopus app.
13. Only one pass per household will be permitted.
14. The pass may be used by residents of England, Wales and NI who are Octopus Energy Limited Customers, except employees of Octopus Energy Limited or the National Trust.
15. The National Trust reserves the right to refuse or revoke the pass at any time.
16. Personal data supplied during this promotion will only be processed as set out in the National Trust’s Privacy Policy.
