This 90-minute tour goes deep into the history of this once champion Cornish mine. The stories take you through how tin and copper was mined from underneath the sea for over 100 years. See how technology transformed this industry with a look at the 1840s beam engine in steam and follow in the miner’s footsteps as you go down underground into the man engine tunnel.

This 30-minute tour takes a closer look at the surface workers known as bal maidens. See the tasks undertaken by women and children to process the ore coming up from underground. They were an essential part of the mine operations turning rock to riches.

This tour does not include seeing the beam engine or going underground into the man engine tunnel.
