Nightjar Walk
Join one of our rangers for an evening walk around Dunwich Heath and search for the elusive nightjar.
Learn more about these unusual birds which visit our heathlands during the summer months. Watch for them as they churr from the trees and fly low across the heath, hunting for moths and other insects.
Please note:
- Please meet by our Visitor Information Centre.
- Please dress suitably for the weather conditions on the day. Sturdy footwear is advisable as some paths are uneven. You may wish to bring mosquito repellent, or a net, and binoculars if you have them.
- Accessible to all, but please note that this outdoor activity will take place on mixed terrain. An off-road mobility scooter is available to hire. Please book this in advance.
- Suitable for older children as it involves walking approximately two miles.
