Introduction to Lino Printing Workshop

This taster session will give you a good introduction into lino printing and will give just enough information for you to take the skills learned and use them at home.

Linocut is a traditional relief printing technique where a print is taken from the surface of a lino block. On this one-hour workshop you will learn how to use the tools, equipment and materials to get started in linocut. You’ll carve your own lino and use the burnishing technique to make cards, gift tags or prints inspired the nature around you at Allan Bank.

Please note:

  • Please meet at the front entrance of the house. The gates will be open from 11 am. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the session starts.
  • Please wear something comfortable. If the weather is colder make sure to wear something warm. You will be using coloured inks so please bring clothing you don't mind getting messy in.
  • Accessible parking available leading through the easy access car parking bay around the back of the house. There is a lower garden path which is easily accessed and one level. The bottom half of the house is all over one level.
  • Suitable for adults aged 18+.
  • Sharp tools will be used.
  • Teas and coffees will be available throughout the session.
