Twilight walk at Calke Abbey

Discover the wonders of Calke's parkland after hours on an exclusive twilight walk.

As the day fades and night draws in, explore Calke park in a new light – by twilight.  

Led by Volunteer and former Countryside Manager, Bill, enjoy a peaceful stroll through the ancient parkland and immerse yourself in nature.

Listen out as the park comes alive with the sounds of owls, bats, and other nocturnal residents, emerging for their evening adventures. 

Get an insight into these illusive creatures with equipment borrowed by The Derbyshire Bat Association.

Please note:

  • Meet by the Ticket Office.
  • We recommend sturdy footwear, lots of layers, and waterproofs if weather-appropriate. Pack plenty of refreshments, as the food facilities will be closed. You may also like to bring a torch with you.
  • This is a leisurely walk, with stops along the way to listen out for wildlife. The walk includes steps and areas of uneven terrain. Not suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
  • Children welcome but please note silence will be required at times.
  • Dogs aren't welcome on this walk.
