Open only for guided tours, each Tuesday from April to October, Bembridge Fort is an enigmatic building created for a war that never happened. Called into action during both World Wars, it was then abandoned. Today, our guides take you back through time as they lead you deep inside and bring the fort to life.
Please note:
- The tour takes place inside and outside Bembridge Fort. After parking in the chalk car park next door please walk across the entrance bridge and meet on the right hand side.
- Inside the fort can be quite cool and the tour takes you to some windy and exposed outside locations. Please wear clothing suitable for the weather on the day.
- The fort has uneven floors, flights of steps and narrow corridors. Visitors with accessibility requirements should contact us prior to booking.
- Not suitable for children under 10.
- Booking is essential for tours of Bembridge Fort and access to the fort is by guided tour only. Pre-booked guided tours are available every Tuesday from April to October. Please note, there are no toilet or refreshment facilities at the fort.
