Join us for an 8 mile loop guided walk across the Lambourn Downs starting at White Horse Hill to Ashdown and back.

Join Ranger Andy as he takes you on an 8 mile loop guided walk, starting at White Horse Hill to Ashdown and back again.

Take a trip back through time from the Bronze Age at White Horse Hill, the Neolithic Period at Waylands Smithy, the English Civil War and World War Two at Ashdown, as well as taking in the landscape and wildlife around you.

Please note:

  • Meet at White Horse Hill carpark. Normal parking charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Please wear sturdy footwear (walking boots). Please bring water and a packed lunch. Wear clothing suitable for walking in.
  • This is a long walk, along many public footpaths, which are unmade and often uneven. In poor weather it is likely to be muddy in places. 
  • Toilet facilities will be available at Ashdown House, but nowhere else en-route.
  • Suitable for children capable of walking 8 miles.
