FACING NORTH THEATRE presents an open-air piece of pocket Shakespeare, a one-hour adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays. This will be performed against the Manchester skyline on this iconic structure.
Join some of Shakespeare’s best loved characters to celebrate midsummer for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM: ABRIDGED ON A BRIDGE, a fast paced, fun-filled farce. Watch as the year’s longest day unfolds its mysterious magic along with a host of confusion and chaos proving that “the course of true love never did run smooth”.
FACING NORTH THEATRE celebrates the creation of performances outside traditional theatre spaces, animating public areas and inviting audiences to engage with their surroundings in a different way.

- Meet at the entrance gate to Castlefield Viaduct.
- This is an outdoor event so please bring something warm and pack a waterproof jacket. Seating will be provided but you are welcome to bring a cushion or rug to sit on.

- Please allow plenty of time to get to Castlefield Viaduct as the performance will start promptly at the time advertised. Gates open 10 minutes before the performance begins. They close 5 minutes before the performance begins.
