You will then be guided through the formal entertaining rooms meeting both members of the Earl’s family and his servants, finding out interesting facts about their daily lives in Castle Coole and their travels abroad.
The tour continues up the Grand Staircase to the Chinese Room where you will meet Lady Dorothy, one of the Earl’s daughters and find out about her very interesting life. The tour upstairs concludes in the State Bedroom, before descending the stairs to the servants’ quarters. A Footman awaits to take you to the bustling kitchen. Here, the Cook, shares what life was like below stairs during that era.

- Meet at the front door of the mansion
- Main estate entrance is located across the road from the Ardhowen Theatre on the Dublin Road with the exit through the Town End gate onto the Castle Coole Road.
- We recommend wearing a light jacket as the mansion can be chilly.
- Parking is available in the main car park. This tour includes walking up and down stairs inside the mansion which might prove difficult for people with mobility issues.
