Dark skies: family stone circle walk
An evening of astronomy for families in the stone circle. Take part in a lantern craft activity followed by a dark walk in the henge with a fascinating talk about the stars. End with warming refreshments.
Join a local astronomer on a fascinating talk about the night sky and admire the stars above Avebury with a warm cup of hot chocolate, in this special dark skies event. Children will also be able to have a go at making a glowing lantern in a led craft activity.
This is a family event and suitable for children above 7 years old. Bring your torches and binoculars to enjoy and marvel at the night sky.
Tickets are £6 each. Please meet outside the barn at 5:30pm.
Please note:
- Meet at the Barn Visitor Reception in the Old Farmyard. Please note that the main visitor carpark is a 5-10 minute walk from visitor reception.
- Wear clothes suitable for the outdoors/cold.
- Please bring a torch to navigate in the dark.
- The area of the stone circle is has step free access but has uneven surfaces and may be wet or slippery. The astronomy talk uses a projector.
- Suitable for ages 7+
