Free Wednesday Social Walks
Come along each Wednesday morning for a free social walk around Longshaw, led by experienced guides who know the area.
Join us each Wednesday for a free social walk led by our knowledgeable walk leaders. Each walk will be around 5 miles, depending on the route, starting from the Welcome Building in Woodcroft car park, and finishing at Longshaw Café.
Social walks are a great opportunity to meet new people, discover new places, and build your confidence walking in the countryside.
Each walk will likely include mild ascent and descent. There may be some stiles, please let us know any access needs when booking.
Dogs on leads are welcome.
Due to the popularity of the walks, booking is strongly advised, though we welcome drop-in participants if there are spaces available on the day. Booked places will be given priority as there is a limit on our maximum group size.
If you no longer need your booked place, please let us know by emailing peakdistrict@nationaltrust.org.uk or calling 01433 631757.
Please note:
- Normal car park charges apply for non-members.
- Meet at the Welcome Building, at the bottom of Woodcroft car park.
- Wear sturdy shoes and come prepared for the weather. That might be sunhats or raincoats depending on the day!
- Routes generally involve some slopes and stony paths. Please let us know any accessibility requirements when booking, so we can change routes accordingly.
- Suitable for accompanied children over the age of 8 years.
- Booking is advisable. However if spaces are available, then you can join the walk on the day.
- Walks may be cancelled at short notice due to bad weather or site closure.
