Trengwainton's Winter Lights

Book your tickets early to see the walled garden and orchard lit with fairy lights and lanterns. Please note: assistance dogs only at this event due to the combination of dim lighting and narrow paths.

Community is at the heart of Trengwainton's Winter Lights. In collaboration with Tough Dough CIC, lanterns are made by local schools, community groups and local artists. Stroll through the walled gardens and orchard lit by these creative lanterns and hundreds of fairy lights. Make a Christmas wish by hanging a bauble on the wishing tree and gather your family and friends there for a picture. Pop into the bookshop for some winter reading, where children can make a Christmas craft.

CAST café will be selling hot drinks, warming soup, cheese toasties, sausage rolls and sweet treats (GF & VG options) from an outdoor stand. Trengwainton café will be closed, while the shop will be open for Christmas gifts and goodies.

Essential companion/carer tickets can be booked alongside a paying ticket for this event.

Open for 11 evenings over 3 weekends: 29 November-1 Dec, 5-8 Dec, 12-15 Dec. Timed entry slots available every 15 minutes from 4.30-7.00pm. Booking is essential.

Please note:

  • It might be handy to bring a torch especially for more dimly lit areas such as the car park.
  • Car park surfaces are gravel as are the paths in the walled garden and orchard. A tarmac path runs from the car park to the reception (1:9 gradient) and there's a steep incline (1:12) on a tarmac path into the walled garden.
  • Electric mobility tramper available to hire (see article on our website for T&C) and a manual all-terrain wheelchair - booking strongly recommended for these. Telephone: 01736 363148.
  • This is a family friendly event.
  • Assistance dogs only at this event.
  • Please car-share as parking is very limited. For the same reason we ask you not to arrive more than 15 minutes before your booked time slot.
  • Toilets (including accessible) available in car park and garden.
  • Be sure to bring either printed or electronic confirmation of your tickets.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged for alternative dates or times, nor be refunded.
