Conservation in Action: Winter house tours
Ever wondered what it takes to care for Kingston Lacy? Learn more about the conservation work that goes into looking after this beautiful place on a special guided tour.
Join us on a special guided tour and go behind the scenes to see the extraordinary work that's being done to look after Kingston Lacy for future generations.
This November and January, peer behind doors that are usually closed, find out about the things that threaten our collections and how the conservation team protect and deep clean the rooms and items within them.
There will be nine tours every day, two of which are bookable in advance on our website. Tickets for the other tours are available to pick up on arrival at Visitor Reception on a first-come-first-served basis. Free event, admission applies.
Please be aware that during this period many objects of the collection are covered to help protect them from dust and light damage.
Please note:
- Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- The tour meets inside the house, at the bottom of the main marble staircase. Please enter the house using the back door from the laundry courtyard. Please arrive at the house at least 5 minutes before the start of your tour.
- Tickets for the other tour slots will be available from Visitor Reception on arrival, on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Please bring suitable clothes and shoes for walking in the house for around 45 minutes.
- This walking tour is approximately 45 minutes with many stairs over three floors. Tours are not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Please email kingstonlacy@nationaltrust.org.uk for specific requirements.
