Battle of Edgehill guided walk
Discover stunning views and stories of pitched battle in this guided walk around Edgehill and nearby historic sites.
Starting from Upton House visitor car park, your walk leader will take you along the escarpment into Edgehill.
Joining you at St Peter's Church in the village of Radway will be a local historian who will introduce you to the Battle of Edgehill exhibition with its displays exploring the impact of this momentous battle on the local villages and their inhabitants.
Please bring your own packed lunch to eat in the church at Radway. The Pavilion cafe will be open and serving plenty of delicious homemade cakes when you return to Upton.
Please note
- Meet in Upton House and Gardens visitor car park ready for a prompt 10:30am start.
- Wear suitable walking boots/shoes and outdoor clothing to protect against cold/wind/rain/heat. Bring a packed lunch and sufficient water/snacks for the duration of the walk.
- This walk follows public footpaths across fields, which may be muddy and uneven. The route includes a steep climb and requires a reasonable level of fitness.
- Children over 16 are welcome, supervised by parent/guardian.
