Family Ponds Walk

Let the kids blow off some steam on this family orientated group walk!

This relaxed walk is perfect to build friendships and socialise with other families. Children can discover nature's treasures along route by building journey sticks and they have the chance to stop for a picnic & play in the meadow. Don’t forget the sandwiches! 

There is the option of expanding the route to include Great Pond if there aren’t small children present or to exchange the route for Great Pond if repeat visitors would like an alternative route.

Rest and Refreshments:
There is a small kiosk café at the Park Centre where food, drink and duck food can be purchased. Toilets are also located here. There are a few benches along the route where visitors can pause if needed.

Both Millers Pond & Great Pond - 2 miles/ 3.2km
Millers Pond only - 1.2 miles/ 1.9km

Please note:

  • Please meet at the Park Centre 10 minutes before your trail is due to start.
  • Please dress for the Great British weather, this may include a sunhat or a waterproof (or both)! If the weather is sunny, please bring suncream. Don't forget to wear walking boots and bring water.
  • This walk is mainly on flat ground on established footpaths along the woodland areas. There are some grassy areas, narrow sections and tree roots to watch out too.
  • This walk is suitable for families with children comfortable walking.
  • No dogs.
  • Some hazards may include: open water, un-barriered drops close to water, uneven terrain, narrow sections, muddy sections, kissing gate, loose ground and environmental sensitivities.
