Introduction to Blacksmithing: Christmas Edition

23 Nov, 9:30-5pm. Learn the key skills of Blacksmithing with a Christmas twist! Our introduction to Blacksmithing course returns for the festive season.

A Christmas twist on our popular introduction to blacksmithing course. Spend the day learning some of the key principles of Blacksmithing with David Gregory, at the Heritage Skills Centre at Coleshill Model Farm.

Starting with that all important chat about safety, you will then get straight to it, hammering metal a point and spreading the metal followed by making and finishing a range of Christmas items. Make your own stocking fillers and learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing. This course is suitable for beginners, no prior blacksmithing experience is needed. For those who already have experience with blacksmithing, we run an intermediate course.

David Gregory is an experienced master blacksmith whose work includes original commissions and a wide range of restoration projects. David also occasionally takes commissions for film and television productions. This course is limited to six participants to allow everyone plenty of time with the course tutor.

Introduction to Blacksmithing: Christmas Edition takes place on the 23 November. There will be a break for lunch and a mess room to eat lunch in. Alternatively there is an on-site café. Tea and coffee provided.
