Stories of the Night Sky at Malham Tarn
On a clear night, the big, open skies of the Yorkshire Dales let you see thousands of sparkling stars! Join local astronomer Martin Lunn MBE for an evening of stargazing and stories at Malham Tarn.
Join us at the National Trust's Malham Tarn Estate to learn more about the night sky. Local astronomer Martin Lunn MBE will guide you to view the stars and constellations and will share the tales associated with them. If the weather is clear, the big, open skies here offer a great opportunity to see the stars. If there is cloud cover or poor weather Martin will give a space presentation indoors instead.
A warming drink and a biscuit is included.
Please note:
- Meet at the Orchid House, Malham Tarn House, Settle, BD24 9PU.
- Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear and wrap up warm. Bring a torch (no head torches) and binoculars if you have them. Please bring your booking confirmation.
- There are steps in the Orchid House up to the meeting space. There is one toilet. Outdoors, the terrain is uneven and due to the timing of the event it will be dark.
- Suitable for children 10+. Must be accompanied by an adult.
- Sorry no dogs.
- Please check your email before travelling to the event in case we need to cancel due to poor weather or other factors.
