Family Stargazing Evening at Fell Foot
Join us for a family-friendly evening learning about the universe and stargazing on the shores of Windermere.
Explore the wonders of the winter night sky. Our astronomy experts will take you on a whistle stop tour of the universe on the big screen. You will learn some fun facts about stars, planets and galaxies.
Then, weather permitting, we will head outside and get hands-on using telescopes and binoculars to go in search of sparkling star clusters, distant galaxies and some giant planets.
The content of this evening is family-orientated and suitable for adults with children of all ages.
Please note if the weather is poor or cloudy the event will still go ahead. Our astronomers will instead take more time to take you on a virtual tour of the universe on the screen!
Please note:
- Please park and head for the Active Base. Members of our team will be there to meet you and direct you.
- Bring a torch and binoculars if you have them. Please wear warm clothing. Please also wear suitable footwear for walking on a footpath which is well graded but slightly rough in places.
- The venue is wheelchair accessible.
- This is a family event, suitable for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Warm drinks (tea/coffee/hot chocolate), fruit squash and biscuits will be available all evening.
- If the weather is poor or cloudy, the event will still go ahead. Our astronomers will instead take more time to take you on a virtual tour of the universe on the screen!
