Snowdrop Weekends

Discover a secret spectacle in the woodlands at Acorn Bank this winter.

As we're usually closed at this time of year, the spectacular snowdrop displays in the woodland are often only seen by the team. Here's your chance to visit whilst they're at their most brilliant; we'll be open each weekend in February.  The gardens will be open, and the second-hand bookshop will be holding vintage book sales. On Saturdays, tours of the mill will run to show progress being made on the restoration of the second waterwheel. In the courtyard, Lakeland Coffee will be offering coffee and cake. Pre-booking is advised.

This event is free for National Trust members but we still advise you to reserve a ticket. Please also remember to bring your card on the day.

Please note:

  • Normal admission charges apply to non-members.
  • This event takes place out in the woodlands where paths can be muddy, uneven and slippery. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress up warmly.
  • Children are welcome.
