Guided Tour - House and Garden
Take a guided tour supported by British Sign Language interpretation, in association with Cumbria Deaf Association.
Join us as we take you through a brief history of the Strickland family, who have lived at Sizergh for nearly 800 years!
Then take a wander through the gardens and learn how they have developed into the beauty you see today.
Please note:
- Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at Visitor Reception at 10:45am.
- Please wear suitable footwear, and, depending on the weather, waterproof clothing.
- Some garden paths are made up of limestone chippings, and some are bark mulched. Grass paths have been reinforced to aid access. There are steps in places. Access to the House's first floor is up 26 steps, with handrails either side. There is no ramp or lift available. Access to the Dining Room and Queen’s Room on the first floor is up two steps, and access to the Library is down one step.
- The House section of the tour will run from 11-11:45am. The Garden section will run from 12-1pm.
