Londonthorpe Village guided walk
Join one of our Rangers on a circular walk to Londonthorpe Village, which stands on a hilltop overlooking Belton Estate. The village is steeped in history dating back to 161AD.
The village is steeped in history dating back to 161AD. This short walk will either take in part of Bellmount Plantation, and time permitting Bellmount Tower, or proceed around Londonthorpe and Alma Woods taking in the sights of Grantham and the WW2 RAF Camp.
A guided tour of the Village and Church will follow. The church will be kindly providing refreshments, cake or biscuits and any donations would be gratefully received.
3 miles/5 km. Duration: 2.5 hours.
The route forms part of the wider Belton Estate and the Woodland Trust at Londonthorpe, as part of the Reconnecting Grantham partnership.
Please note:
- Meet at Londonthorpe Woods car park, What3Words: differ.resides.research
- Walking boots or walking shoes will be required. Wet weather clothing is advisable.
- This event is on surfaced and unsurfaced, uneven ground, meaning it is not wheelchair accessible. There are two stiles and a narrow opening gate. Grass, muddy, rutted paths, and sloping ground.
- Suitable for ages 12+.
- No dogs on this walk.
- Donations for refreshments would be gratefully received.
