Summer Solstice Forest Bathe at Sutton Hoo

Relax and connect with nature through a guided, meditative walk through the woodland.

This special Forest Bathing session will take place just after dawn on the longest day of the year and celebrate the festival of midsummer or the 'Summer Solstice'.  Solstice means ‘light standing still’ and so is a perfect opportunity to take a slow, meditative walk through the majestic Pine Woods at Sutton Hoo

During this 2-hour session you will be led by local Forest Bathing Guide, Charlotte Atkinson, who will encourage you to slow down, relax and connect with nature through your senses.  You will be offered invitations to experience the woodland in different ways and the session will conclude with a tea ceremony.

Please note:

  • Head to the Visitor Welcome point. The team will then gather the group in the courtyard before the event begins.
  • Please wear sturdy shoes and lots of warm layers as we will be moving very slowly. You might want to bring a small camping stool if you are unable to sit on the ground (sit mats will be provided)
  • Unfortunately, due to uneven surfaces, this experience is not wheelchair friendly.
  • This event is most suitable for adults and children aged 14 and above.
