Surrey Hills guided walk
This walk has a lot of variety - hills, heath, river and the UK's oldest continuously inhabited house!
This ten mile walk really does offer a lot: we start at Chinthurst Hill car park and head for Great Tangley Manor and on to Blackheath. After a quick coffee from the flask you're brought with you, we'll aim for Chilworth and the gunpowder mills before going up past Chilworth Manor and on to St Martha's and a lunch break. Then its down through the Chantries and past Shalford Mill before joining the River Wey towpath. The last part of the walk follows the Wey South path and then a big climb up to the top of Chinthurst Hill and then descends to the car park where we started.
Please note:
- Meet at Chinthurst Hill car park (not NT but free) near Wonersh, GU5 0PR.
- Study footwear is needed for this walk. Please bring a packed lunch as there is nowhere convenient to buy food. There are no toilets at the start.
- There is rough ground and three climbs on this walk.
