Estate Walk: Badbury Rings

A walk with fine views and the opportunity to discover some of the fascinating history of the ancient Iron Age hill fort of Badbury Rings and the medieval building of Lodge Farm.

Distance: 4 miles. Time: approx. 3 hours.

This walk takes in an Iron Age hill fort in a chalk grassland habitat, which is home to a wealth of wildlife. Then walk the droves and ancient woodlands before returning to Badbury Rings. 

This walk is 4 miles long and goes across meadows, grassland, chalk hills and woodland paths.

Please note:

  • Meet at Badbury Rings car park, located along the B3082. Follow brown tourist signs. What3Words location - ///sports.reception.overused.
  • Walk starts at 10am, please aim to arrive 10 minutes early.
  • Please wear appropriate sturdy walking shoes and clothing for the weather conditions. Ground can be wet and muddy following rain. Please bring any food and drink needed.
