Cobham's Pillar Climb
A rare opportunity to view Stowe Gardens from the top of the historic Cobham's Pillar monument
Climb the 140 steps to the 360-degree viewing point for an inspiring insight into the design and scale of the landscape.
Over 16s only. This event is not suitable for children. Due to the historic nature of the building, the stairwell is narrow and dark in places.
Please note:
- General admission to the garden applies for non-members, plus the additional £5 to climb the monument.
- Use postcode MK18 5EQ for Stowe Gardens car park. Upon arrival, make your way to Bell Gate kiosk. This is around 800m from the car park, and then onto Cobham's Pillar. This should take you around 20 minutes depending on your pace, so please bear this in mind when planning your arrival time.
- Dress for the weather.
- This is not suitable for wheelchair users. Individuals with walking difficulties or other health issues might also find the climb challenging and should take this into consideration before booking.
- Over 16s only.
- The climb is dark and narrow in places. We recommend bringing a small torch, or using your phone, to light the walkway. Don’t worry if you forget, we’ll have a some available on the day. We’ll also have a pair of binoculars on hand when you get to the top, but feel free to bring your own!
