In Vita's footsteps: A writing workshop with Charlie Bell
Vita's early years at Knole were an inspiration to her throughout her life as a writer. Join this writing workshop with local writer Charlie Bell to follow in Vita's footsteps and be inspired by Knole.
During this season of celebrating Vita's life at Knole, this workshop aims to inspire you to write a response to Knole in whatever way you wish: prose, poetry, diary entries, blogs, a play - it’s up to you.
Using a series of guided exercises and free writing time, you'll generate some original pieces, and share them if you wish. All writers are welcome, either novice or experienced.
Charlie Bell is a well-known local writer and teacher, and is an occasional writer in residence at places including West Horsley Place (Button House), Bore Place, and other local venues. He has worked in an adult education setting for many years.
Please bring your own notebook and pen or preferred writing equipment.
A cream tea from Brewhouse Cafe and hot drinks are included in the ticket price.
Please note:
- This workshop will be held in the Hayloft, on the top floor of the Conservation Studio.
- Part of this workshop may be outside, so please bring warm layers. Please bring your own writing equipment.
