Romeo and Juliet by Illyria at Upton House and Gardens
Two wealthy families, the Montagues and the Capulets, are at war. But when Romeo (Montague’s son) meets Juliet (Capulet’s daughter) they fall into a forbidden love with devastating consequences.
From a secret rendezvous to a fateful duel, Shakespeare masterfully explores the enduring power of love, revenge and fate. But the surprising thing about this iconic tale is that it’s extremely funny too! A passionate, poetic and utterly gripping performance by Illyria in the great outdoors.
As the summer sun goes down, Upton's south terrace makes a stunning backdrop for this classic tale of love and tragedy.
