Healing with plants is as old as humankind itself. This free guided tour of Scotney's garden focuses on medicinal plants and how they have been used as medicines and cures over the ages. Perfect whether you want to create your own apothecary garden or just know where to turn to draw on nature's first aid kit.

Please note:

  • Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Meet at the Garden noticeboard on the garden side of Visitor Entrance.
  • Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
  • Steep inclines in the garden. Hard-surface paths suitable for wheelchairs and powered mobility vehicles. No WCs in garden.
  • As this tour will include the walled garden where only assistance dogs are permitted we strongly advise not bringing your dog on this occasion.
  • Book your car parking as well as your place on the talk in order to guarantee entry. Bookings open every Thursday four weeks in advance.
  • Aimed at adults but may be suitable for older children interested in the topic or for sleeping babies in buggies.
