Great Big Green Week Festival: Gardening for Climate Change

The lead gardener for Scotney's new sub-tropical garden explains how this experimental project has been developed in response to climate change.
This free 'walk and talk' workshop is part of Scotney's Great Big Green Week Festival.

Discover the new sub-tropical garden and meet the gardener who designed it. In an informal Q&A session, you'll learn why we are experimenting in this way, what plants to grow, and how to adapt your own garden to keep it blooming, whatever the weather.

Please note:

  • Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Meet at the Garden noticeboard on the garden side of Visitor Entrance.
  • Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
  • Steep inclines in the garden. Hard-surface paths suitable for wheelchairs and powered mobility vehicles. No WCs in garden.
  • Well-behaved dogs on short lead are permitted.
  • Book your car parking as well as your place on the talk in order to guarantee entry. Bookings open every Thursday four weeks in advance.
  • Aimed at adults but may be suitable for older children interested in the topic or for sleeping babies in buggies.
