Great Big Green Week Festival: Amphibians at Scotney 'Talk & Dip'

Learn about the amphibians who call Scotney home and then have a go pond dipping to discover what’s living beneath the surface.
This free 'walk and talk' workshop is part of Scotney's Great Big Green Week Festival.

Our specialist newt and amphibian ranger will give a brief talk about the different types of amphibians living at Scotney and then will take participants to the usually off-limits location to pond dip. (Please do bear in mind that we cannot guarantee sightings.)

This free 'walk and talk' workshop is part of Scotney's Great Big Green Week Festival and is included with your admission (free for NT members) but, as places are limited, you should reserve your place to avoid disappointment. Once you have reserved your place on the talk and dip, please book your car parking.

Please note:

  • Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Meet at the Garden noticeboard on the garden side of Visitor Entrance. Please meet  5-10 minutes before the start of the event.
  • Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
  • Hard-surface paths suitable for wheelchairs and powered mobility vehicles. Quickest route to pond-dipping site is stepped. No WCs in garden.
  • Well-behaved dogs on short lead are permitted.
  • Book your car parking as well as your place on the talk in order to guarantee entry. Bookings open every Thursday four weeks in advance.
