Community Focus Group Day

Share your thoughts and experience at this community workshop day.

We're designing a new character-led visitor experience at Bath Assembly Rooms which will bring the characters to life from their Georgian heyday.

Join us for a day of workshops where you will get a sneak peek of the draft content and have the opportunity to share your feedback. Your thoughts and experiences can help shape the stories that we will tell.

During the day we'll introduce the themes and characters of the proposed new visitor experience, the history of the Assembly Rooms and Georgian Bath, followed by sessions exploring four key themes:

  • Historic experiences of disability
  • LGBTQ+ histories
  • Mental health and gambling harms
  • The experiences of people of Black and South Asian heritage in Georgian Bath

You'll need to attend for the full day. On arrival we'll ask you to choose which of the two workshops you'd like to participate in.

There will be an opportunity for guided tours, ‘voting stations’ on aspects of the planned experience, and information from local organisations.

We're looking for people to actively take part in the day. Bring your personal perspective and lived experience, but there's no expectation to share personal stories. You'll listen to presentations, get involved in discussions and give written and verbal feedback.

In return for your time, we'll provide refreshments, £20 online shopping voucher, travel expenses up to £5, free guided tour of Bath Assembly Rooms, welfare support and information about local resources.

Bookings close Friday 17 May.

Please note:

  • Please bring your ticket to the main doors.
  • Dress for comfort. The workshops are indoors.
  • Located on the ground floor with an accessible toilet. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
  • Due to the nature of the topics under discussion, we would recommend this event being for over 18s. If you are under 18 and would like to attend, please get in touch.
