Archaeological dig site tours at Bodiam Castle

Join National Trust archaeologists as they take you on a tour of a live archaeological dig.

Archaeologists will share their extensive knowledge of the history and archaeology of Bodiam as you explore the dig site, learn about the finds and watch excavations in action.

6, 7 & 8 August – 11am-12pm

13, 14 & 15 August – 11am-12pm

20, 21 & 22 August – 11am-12pm

£8 per adult, £4 per child. 

Content of tour may vary from day to day depending on the discoveries made over the duration of the 3 week dig project.

Please note:

  • Please meet outside Visitor Reception where you will be taken to the dig site.
  • Please wear clothing suitable for the weather as this is an outdoor event.
  • This event takes place over uneven terrain and is unsuitable for those with limited mobility and wheelchair users. Please see the access pages at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bodiam-castle for further information.
  • £5 parking per car for non-members which can be purchased on arrival. Parking is free for National Trust members.
  • If you would like to visit the castle and grounds, non-members will need to purchase an admission ticket from Visitor Reception.
