Join ranger Mark as he takes you on a guided walk to learn about the people who came before us, how they shaped the land and the structures they left behind. Discover the abandoned settlement of Rannerdale and how Cinderdale got its name.

Please note:

  • Please meet at the free car park at Cinderdale, grid ref: NY162194.
  • Dress for the weather forecast and bring refreshments.
  • We'll be walking off main paths, mostly close to the lakeshore but the route will include steep slopes, uneven surfaces, kissing gates and a shallow ford crossing a beck.
  • Aimed at adults. Suitable for children aged 12 and up.
  • This event will go ahead if it's raining.
