Ranger in training - Lyme

Get hands on this autumn and learn some of the essential skills needed to become a ranger and care for this special place and the wildlife who call Lyme home.

There are many traditional skills that rangers use every day to help care for the countryside. Have a go yourself to learn outdoor skills in Lyme's parkland and earn your Looking After Lyme Ranger badge!

Suitable for ages 6-12. We have ranger in training events throughout half term, with different activities at each session, book onto one day or more to advance your ranger skills. 

Tuesdays - River Guardians
Wednesdays - Building skills 
Thursdays - Bushcraft 

£8 per child per session.

Children cannot be left without a parent or guardian.

Please note:

  • Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Meet in the Timber Yard for activities in the parkland nearby.
  • Wear suitable clothing and shoes. Coats, jackets and wellies recommended.
  • This event takes place in the parkland with uneven terrain. Please get in touch if you have any accessibility queries.
  • Children are welcome. Suitable for children age 6 - 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
