The Knight Before Christmas

Bring the whole family and experience the wonder of Christmas the old-fashioned way! Twinkling lights, fresh pine, and a cosy tour through Canons Ashby house; what more could you want for Christmas?

Join us for a special after-hours tour around the house when it is decorated for Christmas. Inspired by Arthurian legend come and see the decorations which are full of knights, wizards, and dragons. They are sure to be even more atmospheric in the evening!

After the tour warm up with a class of mulled wine or hot chocolate and a mince pie, included in the ticket price.

The shop and tea-room will be closed upon arrival as this event takes place outside of our normal operating hours.

This tour is not exhaustive of all the decorated areas: the rest of the decorated areas can be visited as part of a normal standard daytime visit.

Please note:

  • Start at Visitor Reception and follow directions.
  • Please dress for the weather - to walk from the car to the house will be chilly and uneven, and the house is cold at this time of year, and has steps and uneven surfaces.
  • This will involve steps, stairs, and uneven surfaces - please contact us to discuss your access needs if you are concerned about this. A hearing loop is available on request. This will take place in dim lighting.
  • Families are welcome.
  • This event is not suitable for dogs except for assistance dogs.
Sorry, no tickets are currently on sale for this session.
