Autumn colour Arboretum tour at Dyffryn Gardens
Celebrate one of the best aspects of autumn - the colour, on an Arboretum tour with Dyffryn Gardens' Head Arborist, Rory.
Throughout the season join Head Arborist, Rory for a quintessentially autumnal ramble through the Arboretum, taking in the colour of the trees during this beautiful season.
Rory will take you around the most spectacular trees of the season, fill you in on the science behind the changes trees undergo in the autumn and answer any and all questions you have.
It's also a great opportunity to find out what it takes to look after a wooden area such as this, what jobs the team have to undertake to keep it healthy and thriving and what challenges they face, especially in the rapidly changing environment that climate change has caused.
This is a free tour (admission also applies) but we recommend booking a ticket to ensure your spot as tour numbers are limited at 20 participants. "Walk-ins" are also welcome on the day but we recommend reserving your space in advance to avoid disappointment. The tour starts at 11am and lasts for one hour.
Please note:
- Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at the Welcome Centre, let the Welcome Team know you're attending the Arboretum tour and they'll check you in and tell you next steps.
- This is an outdoor events which includes lots of walking so dress for the weather and wear comfy shoes.
- The terrain of the Arboretum is often uneven and can be muddy and boggy in places. Please let us know when you book your tickets if you have any accessibility needs and we'll try our best to make the adjustments you need.
- This is a free tour (admission also applies) but if you'd like to give a donation towards the arboretum's conservation and development at the end, Rory or the Welcome Team will happily help with that. We can accept donations via card or cash.
