Dark Stories from the Tapestries: Family-Friendly Storytelling Tour
Get in the spooky spirit this Hallowtide and listen to the grisly tales of the characters depicted in the famous Hardwick tapestries.
Tour through the hall and learn the hidden histories of Hardwick’s most spine-chilling tapestries.
The length of the tour is roughly 1 hour 40 minutes and is led by our team of expert storytellers to share the tales of Hero & Leander, Penelope & Ulysses and Artemisia.
Included in the ticket price will be a takeaway Hot Chocolate or Pumpkin Spice Latte as you leave at the end of the tour.
Please note this tour will touch on themes of punishment, suicide, death and war, but don’t fret! These stories are designed to be family friendly for children aged 8 years and up!
Please note:
- Please meet at Visitor Reception by 3.15pm. An usher will take you to the Hall at 3.15pm.
- This event takes place in the hall across all three floors with no lift facilities. This is a walking tour, there will not be seating available for everyone in all of the story locations. 1x wheelchair is available on each floor of the Hall, but visitors do need to be able to climb stairs.
- Children are welcome. Suitable for ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
