Meet the Deer at Wentworth Castle Gardens
Come and meet the Wentworth Castle deer in this magical experience for all the family, followed by a festive breakfast in the Long Barn café.
Join our farmer Terry to learn about these wonderful creatures and how to look after them. You can also help give the deer their breakfast!
This is a unique opportunity to enjoy early morning in the parkland before everyone else arrives on site. Afterwards, join the elves in the Long Barn café for a warming festive breakfast.
Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies. If you would like the veggie/vegan breakfast option please write this in the dietary advice box when booking.
Adult full breakfast: Sausage, streaky bacon, hash brown, fried egg, beans, baked tomato, white toast and tea or coffee.
Adult veggie/vegan breakfast: Veggie sausages, hash browns, beans, baked tomato, white toast and tea or coffee.
Kids full breakfast: Sausage or Veggie sausage, hash brown, beans, white toast and orange or apple juice.
Mini breakfast (recommended for children under 2 years old): White toast with beans or jam and orange or apple juice.
All breakfast items are gluten free with GF bread swap available on request. Oat milk is also available. If you would like an alternative upgrade drink e.g. a latte or hot chocolate these can be purchased on the day.
Admission to the gardens and parkland is included in your ticket price so why not explore our enchanted tree trail or woolly jumper walk after breakfast?
Please note:
- Meet just behind the Visitor Reception building.
- Dress warmly as it will be early in the morning. You'll be outside for about 45 minutes in total with around 30-40 minutes meeting and feeding the deer. Festive outfits are encouraged!
- The entrance to the parkland and the café where the event will take place is about 200m from the visitor car park. There are uneven surfaces in the parkland making it unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs however, you can see the deer from the path or leave your buggy nearby and walk to the deer. Please contact us in advance to discuss your access needs and we will do our best to support.

- This event is not suitable for dogs as they may startle the deer.
- Please note as this is an out of hours event ticket prices are the same for members and non-members.
