Spirits of the Forest: Relaxed Twilight Lantern Walk at Cragside
This slot is a quieter session with reduced numbers to take into account the additional requirements of some children and families in order to provide an experience special to all.
This Christmas, experience a twilight adventure through the Debdon Valley where Cragside's Forest Spirits have cast their magic.
Carrying your lantern, follow the sparkling route. Walk between the towering trees, glowing with enchanting lights. Spot the mischievous woodland animals hiding in the foliage, and marvel at the shimmering cascades. Climb the stone steps to the Iron Bridge, where you can take family photos with the illuminated House as your spectacular backdrop. End your journey at the foot of the UK's Tallest Living Christmas Tree, lit with over 2000 twinkling lights.
Please note:
- Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet in the Coach Park. The trail starts at the top of the stairs, next to the Archimedes Screw.
- Please arrive at the property at least 30 minutes before your booked time-slot. Exploring the House before your event time is highly recommended.
- Study footwear is essential for this adventure through Cragside's varied terrain. The weather in Northumberland can change quickly.
- This walk includes includes uneven stone steps, gravel paths and mud tracks. This trail is not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. An alternative route to the giant Christmas tree can be offered, but this does not include the Debdon Valley trail.
- This event is targeted a families/groups with children aged 4-11 years old. However all ages are welcome. The lantern walk is not buggy or pushchair friendly.
- Each child or group must be accompanied by at least one adult.
- The trail will take between 45 minutes and an hour to complete.
