Guided bike ride: Souter to the National Glass Centre
Join cycle leaders Janet and Steven for a 10 mile ride to another of the region's popular visitor attractions.
Cycle with guides Janet and Steven on a 10 mile loop from Souter, along the coast and River Wear to the National Glass Centre in Sunderland and back. Stop for a picnic lunch and chance for a short to visit the National Glass Centre, before returning along part of National Cycle Network Route 1.
The route involves several gradients.
Please bring your own bike that is safe and fit for the ride. It must be mechanically sound, with two working breaks and gears. All bikes will be checked by the cycle leaders prior to the ride. They will refuse the use of the bike if they deem it unsafe.
Please note:
- Meet outside Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre, next to the Lighthouse car park.
- Please bring a bike, helmet, water and picnic lunch, and wear clothes suitable for the weather.
- All routes are surfaced with tarmac, along cycleways and minor roads. The route features several inclines.
- Suitable for children aged 10+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
