Create an Elizabethan Kissing Bough
Make an Elizabethan Kissing Bough to celebrate Hardwick Wintertide this Christmas.
Welcome guests into your home this Christmas with a handmade kissing bough! A kissing bough is an Elizabethan gesture of goodwill to your guests over the festive period which gave birth to the tradition of kissing under the mistletoe.
The workshops will guide you through the process using foliage gathered by our Gardeners from the Hardwick Estate and how to arrange these to build the perfect kissing bough.
This session will last 2 hours.
Please note:
- Normal admission charges apply to non-members on arrival (either a Wider Estate fee or a general admission ticket to the House and Gardens).
- Please meet at the Park Centre, which is located near the Hardwick ponds.
- This event takes place on the Park Centre, which is located on the ground floor with one small step into the room. Accessible parking and facilities are available.
- This workshop is suitable for ages 16 and up.
