Relaxed Hour - Christmas on the Continent - House entry
The house is decked out to follow the journey of the Earl-Bishop and his family as they toured around Europe. Experience different modes of transport and immersive room decorations as the house is decorated to represent different wintry scenes.
Relaxed Hour is ideal for our visitors who prefer a quieter and calmer experience, such as those with autism, SEN needs, or dementia. The sound will be lowered, and the walkaround relaxed and informal, with less numbers per timeslot to make for an enjoyable experience for all.
Please note:
- Timed entry does not include estate admission. You will be expected to scan your National Trust member card or pay admission on arrival.
- Remember to plan your day and see what else is on offer at Ickworth during winter.
- Your House experience starts at the front doors of the Rotunda. Your timed ticket is not your entry time to the estate, rather your entry into the House. Estate opens from 9am.
- Please wear layers as the House can get cold. You may be asked to leave prams and large bags at the entrance. Slings can be provided for babies.
- There is a ramp into the ground floor of the Rotunda and step-free access into all the rooms off the entrance hall. There is a lift that can take you to the first floor. It is a small lift but has enough room for most wheelchairs and one accompanying carer. Mobility scooters must be left at the front door unless transfer to a wheelchair is not possible.
- Assistance dogs only allowed.
- Children are welcome.
- Family Outdoor trail open 9am-4pm. West Wing open 10am-4pm. Estate open 9am-5pm.
- The house experience will take upwards of 40 minutes.
- Toilets unavailable in the House, nearest toilets in West Wing and Main Car park, both accessible with baby change options.
