Four Seasons Painting Workshop Episode 1 - Spring at Mussenden Temple

Join local landscape artist Sarah Carrington for the 1st of our seasonal painting workshop from Mussenden Temple.

Explore the coastal cliff-top and views of Mussenden Temple within its location on the edge of Downhill Demesne, through painting. Using observational painting techniques to describe the Temple and the landscape around it, create paintings and sketches to celebrate the beauty of this building and its stunning location on the edge of Causeway Coast. Landscape artist Sarah Carrington will guide you as you respond to these incredible surroundings using watercolour and mixed media. 

Please note:

  • Please meet at Lions Gate Carpark, Mussenden Road.
  • Please bring a sketchbook/a dozen sheets of paper, acrylics/watercolours (ideally a travel box), pens, chalks, pencils, favourite brushes - whatever you like to paint with; masking tape and water pot with water. Drawing boards and extra brushes will be provided.
  • If you have a portable seat, it is recommended to bring with you.
  • Please wear clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking and painting, whatever the weather.
  • If required, bring a drink and snacks for yourself.
  • Uneven terrain and steep steps up into the Temple.
  • Suitable for ages 16 and above.
