Four seasons Painting Workshop Episode 2 – Summer at Portstewart Strand

Join local landscape artist Sarah Carrington for the 2nd of our seasonal painting workshops from Portstewart Strand.

Discover the natural landscape of Portstewart Strand, using watercolour and mark-making to describe the textures, weather and elements of this beautiful beach. Guided by local landscape artist Sarah Carrington, using sketchbook techniques to capture the coastal views, explore the beauty of the Strand and its location on the Causeway Coast through paint and mixed media. 

Please bring a sketchbook/a dozen sheets of paper, acrylics/watercolours (ideally a travel box), pens, chalks, pencils, favourite brushes - whatever you like to paint with; masking tape and water pot with water. Drawing boards and extra brushes will be provided. If you have a portable seat, it is recommended.

Sarah Carrington was born in Scotland and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 1999, she has been practising as a professional artist, specialising in landscape drawing and painting. Currently based on the beautiful Causeway Coast, Sarah finds endless inspiration for her artwork. She exhibits her work locally and throughout the UK, and regularly facilitates painting workshops within schools and local communities, celebrating the beauty of natural landscape.

Please note:

  • Meet at the canopy outside Harry’s Shack at Portstewart Strand.
  • Please wear clothing & footwear suitable for walking and painting, whatever the weather. If required, bring a drink and snacks for yourself.
  • There is uneven terrain and sand.
  • Suitable for 16 years plus.
