When Beatrix Potter wrote Squirrel Nutkin in 1903, there were lots of red squirrels in the UK, with only a few grey squirrels. In this interactive talk, you'll find out more about the red squirrel’s struggle for survival and the work of Penrith and District Red Squirrel Group. Plus clips from award winning filmmaker Terry Abraham’s new film Cumbrian Red and squirrel facts.

  • House access is step-free and there are wide doorways to reach the Drawing Room.
